Paper AKA DIY

Most of what qualifies as paper also qualifies as do-it-yourself.  I designed the invitations, escort cards, program cards, banner etc using a papel picado motif.  (Papel picado is a traditional Mexican paper cut-out craft/technique.)  Mr. C has really helped with this process too...he does good things with a ruler and exacto knife!

Save the Dates

Picture
I used our motif as the focus of the Save the Dates.  I ordered (free!) postcards from vistaprint.com and then hand stamped the front with four papel picado flags in blue and green.  The stamps were also embossed with clear powder, and then I drew the black "string" with a Sharpie.

The back included necessary information as well as a picture from our engagement photography session.

Papel Picado Stamp

I searched and searched for a papel picado stamp, and I thought I had come to a dead end.  Then, on etsy, I found seller tresijas.  There were two handmade stamps that were perfect for $22.  I have used them for many, many things including our save the dates, belly bands, candy bar bags, etc.

FYI...they were originally white (I have used them quite a bit and failed to wash them in a timely manner), and they still stamp perfectly).

Invitations

Picture
I designed the invitations on Microsoft Publisher, and I bought most of the supplies from cardsandpockets.com.  The pocket folds are "meadow" green, the main invitation border and outer envelopes are "Caribbean" blue.  The rest of the paper is plain old white cardstock.  I opted for the full sheets that could be cut later, but I would highly advise anyone who is considering this option to buy the pre-cut.  The time and energy spent cutting was not worth the money saved.

Staying organized is key.  We have three different main invitations and different insert cards (depending on which at-home celebration people are invited to).  It was super important to keep different labeled bags so people received the correct information.

Welcome Letter for OOT Bags

I made these pamphlets on Microsoft Publisher and will print them somewhere online (probably VistaPrint).  They are not completely done yet since we do not have the schedules for Friday and Saturday.
