Men's Attire

Picture
Mr. C will wear khaki pants, a khaki vest, a white shirt, and brown sandals.

CHANGE OF PLANS: Mr. C ordered (and looks very nice in) a gray fine pinstripe suit from J. Crew.  He ordered the three separate pieces (paints, jacket, and vest), and after trying them all on, he will wear the jacket and pants for the wedding.  He may wear the pants and vest for the at home receptions.

This is Mr. C in the suit!

My one bridesmaid/my maid of honor is my sister.  She will wear a dress similar to this from Aria.  It will turquoise in color.

Her shoes will be b.o.c. Day Lily sandals in nude.

Bride's At-Home Celebration Attire

Picture
I purchased J. Crew's long Sophia dress for $70 on ebay.  I will wear it (most likely) for both at-home celebrations.

What follows is my actual wedding dress.  I do not care if Mr. C sees it, but I know he does not want to, so this is his fair warning.

I wanted something pretty simple in a wedding dress and wanted NOTHING that could be described with the following words: princess, puffy, tulle, heavy, blingy, gaudy, expensive, etc.

I tried on wedding dresses at two different stores in the Chicago area.  The first time I went with a larger group of family members (my mom, grandmother, sister, dad); I think because it was my first try, I found it to be a bit overwhelming, and I did not find anything I really loved.  I then went to a second store with just my sister.  I came out loving one dress in particular and thought I may eventually order it.  I then returned to that store a month or so later all by myself.  They were selling all their sample dresses, and I tried quite a few but returned to the one I love the last time.  I decided to buy the sample, which was on super sale for $900 off!

The following are pictures of my dress from the website, which DOES NOT do the dress any justice (the bust does not look that weird and my sash is the same color as the lace) and then some pictures of me in it.
