Cake Topper

Picture
I saw tons of cute cake toppers on Etsy; I especially loved the the bride and groom toppers made from wooden pegs.  On Etsy, they cost anywhere from $40 to $70 dollars.  I figured I could probably make them myself.

I bought two wooden 'eggs', two wood beads (for heads), and a stand.  I had Mr. C drill holes in the eggs and level them off so that a wood peg holds the heads and bodies together.  I then drew the designs with pencil and used gouache paint (because I already own a lot of it) to fill them in.  For the bride, I also affixed two paper flowers in her hair and used some stretchy lace to make the dress (I had to soak the lace in some tea so that it was not stark white). Eventually I sprayed them each with some fixative.  They probably cost me about $5 to make myself (given I already owned the art supplies).

I really love how they turned out!

Card Box

Picture
I made this card box for the at-home celebrations.

It was made from a plain cardboard hat box from Joanne's.  I painted the box and top, cut a slit in the top (okay, Mr. C did this), and then hot glued a strand of small papel picado flags around it.

Escort Cards

Picture
These will be used for the Chicago-Land celebration.  They are made from various color cards from The Paper Source, leftover white cardstock, and paper cutouts that look like papel picado flags.  They were actually made from a corner paper punch out.

These are the escort cards for the reception in the Dominican Republic.  I made several different versions that all look somewhat similar.  I used the same papel picado stamps from our save the dates and used StazOn ink in turquoise and midnight blue.  The cards are from Paper Source.

Programs

Picture
I made the program backing from different colors of green and blue cardstock.  I then made a string of papel picado flags (from the corner paper punch out) on white thread.  I then punched holes in the cardstock and tied the thread in a circle.

I have already designed the paper part of the program on Microsoft publisher, and it follows the fonts and theme from our invitations.  (The program itself is not included here.)

Ring Holder

Picture
The rings for the ceremony will sit in a shell.  The shell already had a hole at the top, through which I threaded a few pieces of colored ribbon and a strand of blue raffia.

Candy Bar Bags

Picture
There will be three different bags for the candy bar at the Chicago-Land celebration.  One of them was purchased and will be used as is (small blue bag with spots from Target).  I altered the other two bags to fit our theme.  The first is a clear plastic bag that I punched a hole in and threaded raffia with a "sweet" papel picado tag.  The next is a small brown paper bag to which I have attached the same tag. (I made multiple colors of tags with different colored stamps.)

Signs for Ceremony and Reception

Picture
This banner says "JUST MARRIED".  I made the individual letter cards with our Outlaw font in Publisher.  I printed them onto shimmery white paper, and Mr. C helped me cut them out.  They were then mounted onto pre-cut card stock cards, hole-punched, and strong together with blue raffia.  I love how this turned out.

"Mr." and "Mrs" signs for our chairs at the reception. Again, I made these in publisher in the same way I did the JUST MARRIED sign.

Picture
This is the sign for the raffia box/basket that will hold our programs and fans for the ceremony.  I used some leftover turquoise cardstock and the paper flags that were also used with our programs.

I ordered the paper fans from Lunabazaar.com for $.95 each.  I stamped with with "K+N" on one of the wooden side posts and "celebrate" on the other.

Candy Bar

Picture
These are the labels for our candy bar jar (for the Chicago-Land reception).  I will eventually hole punch them and tie them to the jars I bought with satin ribbon.  You will surely recognize the flags I keep using, and the cut outs were purchased from Paper Source along with the shimmery white cards.

Napkins

Picture
I stamped three colors of napkins (turquoise, lime green, and white) with "K+N" and our papel picado stamps.  I used StazOn ink, and once I practiced, I got it to stop from bleeding too much.

OOT Bags

Picture
Right now all I have gotten done for the OOT bags are the labels that I will use to secure the first aid kits.  The kits will eventually contain a sunscreen towelette, Advil, band aids, Shout wipe, etc.

I designed the labels in Publisher with Outlaw font and a papel picado image in the background, printed them on clear labels, and affixed them to white card stock I cut.
